Brazilian Butt Lift
While many women and men are aware of the benefits of altering the size of a particular body part, either augmenting breasts or reducing fat, altering the shape can also, in some cases, create a marked improvement. Patients with flat or sagging posteriors, for example, might benefit from a Brazilian butt lift in which involves transferring fat from another part of the body—typically the abdomen, flanks, arms, or outer thighs—to create a fuller but still natural silhouette. Other options include implants, which involve the insertion of a silicone implant to add volume or a butt lift involving the removal of excess tissue to help elevate the butt. In some patients, a purse–string gluteoplasty can be performed where the patient’s own tissue can be used for buttock augmentation and lift at the same time. Patients with large weight losses and excess posterior skin are ideal candidates for this type of procedure.
